Apostle Byron Biography

Apostle Byron Hope Lampkin is a native of Philadelphia, and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1985 and was baptized in Jesus’ Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. He received his ministry training and foundation of the Apostolic doctrine and Salvation under the tutelage of Bishop Ronald Young of Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple(P.A.W.). Apostle Lampkin was joined in holy matrimony on March 30, 1991 to Patricia Estelle Lampkin.

He answered God’s call to enter the ministry and began taking the Good News of Jesus to the prisons, hospitals, streets and many churches, for he knew that the work of the Lord must move beyond the church in word and in deed. As a result of his faithfulness to God and the ministry, he was ordained as Elder in August 1998 by Bishop Jerome Wilcox.

After much prayer and fasting, Elder Lampkin accepted the calling to the ministry of Pastor. He founded Word of Faith Outreach & Deliverance Ministries, Inc. in June, 1999. The Lord gave favor and touched the heart of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Gay, who unselfishly allowed the use of their building (1412. 22nd St, Phila. PA). The doors were opened on June 18th, 1999. By faith Pastor Lampkin stretched out to have the first service for Word of Faith. He had no indication of who the Lord would send to help, but his purpose was to do the will of the Lord. Pastor Lampkin was ordained as an Apostle in June of 2008.

Word of Faith Outreach & Deliverance Ministries, Inc., is a prophetic five-fold deliverance ministry based on the word, prayer and fasting. This ministry has a determination to take God’s people to a higher place in their walk with him. God has put this ministry together to cultivate and bring forth the greater works that he has placed within His people.

The Lord had blessed Word of Faith with a new building located at 21 Main Street, Darby PA 19023 in (date to be added).

Apostle retired from the position of an Inventory Manager at the Defense Supply Center of Philadelphia in 2009 after 26 years of service. He also serves as a Lay Preacher with the Philadelphia Baptist Prison Ministry.

Apostle Lampkin continues his faith walk serving the Lord. He instills principles of truth, faith and unity among his congregation for better service to God, church and community. For he is truly a man of prayer, faith, righteous example, wisdom and love, led by the Holy Ghost.
